Susan K Weckesser and Unity Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Susan Weckesser/Unity Blog Hop!
We are hoping to inspire some quick and easy Christmas card ideas! Featuring this adorable itty bitty stamp designed by the fabulous Susan K Weckesser....

One of the things I like to do when coloring multiples of the same image - I pre-stamp out the image onto my paper (usually I fill an entire 8.5 X 11 or two - depending on how many cards I plan on making). And then when I am in front of the tv or want a quick "grab and go" project to take with me, I will bring my coloring along. Once all the images are colored then you can production line your cards making it quick and easy to get multiples done!

I know that one of my style signatures is using lots of layers and lots of sewing, which may make this card seem more complicated than it is. Once I design my initial card, if I want to make multiples of the same I will production line all my cutting. And to simplify the design even further I would skip the sewing. Using dimensional adhesive also really helps with the layered look and it takes no more work than applying regular adhesive.

Another "cheat" that I like to use is stamping my sentiment right onto a label sticker...each card could have a slightly different label and it would still be super cute!

Hip Hop Thursday with Unity!

Hi everyone! Welcome to another Hip Hop Thursday with Unity!
This week I got to playing with one of my SOTW's: {frosty mornings}

I colored in this adorable little birdie with my Copics and then covered him in Stickles....so cute!
Because I wanted to have this sweet little bird "perched" on the birdcage in the paper I decided to put the sentiment on the inside of the card:

Be sure to check out the entire hop and make sure to leave a comment on each blog. Three random commenters will be selected to win a $20 gift certificate to Unity!
In case you get lost along the way:

Brown Thursday SALE at Unity!!

It's the best time of the year!
Unity's BIGGEST SALE EVER!!
~BROWN THURSDAY~
50% off everything!!
Time to shop!! Wahoo!

And in pure Unity fashion...they are giving a little back...$1 from every sale is going to Rice Bowls - how cool is that??

To honor Brown Thursday we are using kraft, kraft....and more kraft in our projects today!
Lucky me! I love working with kraft paper...and I especially love mixing it with white.
It's never nice to need to make sympathy cards, but this past week I needed to make two of them.
This color scheme just seemed to be the perfect combo for the look and feel I wanted for my cards.
I also added lots of layers and textures to the cards to give them more interest with such a "plain" color combo...I love how they both turned out. And I hope they brought some comfort to my friends.
